The certification mark, as used by authorized persons, certifies that the regulated health care practitioner has enrolled and successfully completed the accredited Wound Care Champion Program provided by the applicant consisting of a series of 43 interactive online modules, 10 webinars, and 3 in-person skills labs, and passed 4 assignments, including a clinical exam issued by the applicant, all of which address the knowledge and skills necessary to: (1) identify persons at risk for wounds (2) implement appropriate preventative and treatment measures using a systematic, interprofessional, person centered approach and (3) lead change to sustain excellence in wound care practices in their workplace across all health sectors. Practitioners must maintain their proficient level of knowledge and skills surrounding skin and wound management through a journal of continuing education activities.
