Gurukool is a mentor-mentee educational program which runs almost virtually using social media platform and skills. Gurukool (derived from ancient Indian language Sanskrit) is an experimental platform which drew inspiration from the PhD Career Support Group based on social media networking where people get connected with those who have already moved to either academic position or in industry. The mentors had been consistently training the mentees for their upcoming job applications and interviews since July 2016. The educational program helps with resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn tailoring, and provides one-on-one advice/mentoring with PhDs who have successfully transitioned to STEM careers. This also includes suggestions on contracts, negotiation skills, interview skills, and post job mentoring.
