The mark consists of a circular emblem having an outer black ring bounded by red lines with the words City of Long Beach Incorporated 1897 superimposed in white on the black ring; the outline of a seashell positioned within the black ring with images of the sun, the ocean and the beach, an airplane, buildings, a lighthouse, oil rigs and a women surrounded by a bear and vegetables superimposed on the seashell, wherein the space between the black ring and the seashell is colored yellow; the words URBS AMICITIAE are positioned on the seashell and the word California is positioned above the seashell.
