The mark consists of an oval that is wider horizontally than it is vertically. The oval has a border created by two concentric lines. Along the top outside edge of the oval are the words "Historic Wahiawa Town, Hawaii" in italics, following the curve of the oval. A curved, folded ribbon with stripes along the top and bottom appears to wrap around the bottom portion of the oval from behind, partially obscuring the lower portion of the oval and border. The ends of the ribbon point left and right and have inverted "v" shapes cut out of them. The word PLANTATION in all capital letters, serif font, with a shadow accent, is in the center of the ribbon, following the curve of the ribbon. Inside the oval is the word "Dole" in bold, sans-serif font, surrounded by a white outline. The letter "D" is capitalized and "ole" are in lower case. A sunburst design is encapsulated in the letter "o" and there is a horizontal bar under the entire word. The bottom of the "o" overlaps with the bar, and the rays extending from the sunburst in the "o" overlap onto the letters "D" "l" and "e." Behind the word "Dole" is an illustration of a field bordered by hedges, with a structure at the end of the field, and a sky in the background. The sky features a design of evenly spaced rays projecting outward from behind the structure. The sky also features puffy clouds low on the horizon, behind the structure to the left and right. The structure resembles an estate house including a wraparound porch, a gabled roof, and an additional railing on the top of the roof. The wraparound porch has a railing and 10 columns, with arches between each column. The four most central columns and three central archways form an entrance to the structure characterized by a portico with a triangular roof, which has the stylized word "Dole" in the center. The remaining columns create three additional archways on either side of the portico. A row of hedges separates the structure from the field. The field is characterized by three thick, black horizontal lines that extend from the left to right edge of the oval, and additional lighter colored horizontal lines of varying length. Together, these lines create the impression of rows and waves of plants in a field.
