The certification mark, as used or intended to be used by persons authorized by the certifier, certifies or is intended to certify that the source of the bison meat goods provided have met established national and international animal safety and welfare standards, experienced limited human interaction and handling, have been fed solely a vegetarian diet (that is fed no animal products or byproducts), have been fed solely a vegetarian diet (that is fed no animal products or byproducts), have never been treated with any forms of antibiotics or hormones, have been processed in compliance with the Global Food Safety Initiative and subject to voluntary USDA inspection and food safety compliance, carcasses have been chilled exclusively by air, and all certified steaks have been sourced from youthful (under 30 months of age) animals.
