The mark consists of a tricorn hat with plume on right side of crown held in place by a hat band wrapped around a teardrop shaped crown. The left side of the brim is lifted vertically in an open triangular shape and the right side of the brim extends horizontally with a slight lift at the end of the brim. Beneath the tricorn is an angled, gloved hand, holding a rapier. The rapier is held vertically in a fencing greeting pose at the center front of the tricorn with the blade extending vertically above the tricorn crown. The gloved hand grips the rapier handle just below the rapier crossbar. A loop guard with counterguards sits just above the crossbar and extends below the rapier grip, covering the gloved hand, and curving beneath the gloved hand toward the wrist.
