Provides a forum for the exchange of management ideas and actions that will sustain tropical forests in perpetuity. This is accomplished by: listening to forest communities to learn their ways of life, goals, and values; assembling resources to investigate and document the existing environmental, social, political, and landownership conditions of their tropical forests; incorporating the assembled knowledge into management plans that will improve and sustain the communities and their forests; providing specific technical expertise to implement the plans; and encouraging global participation in this endeavor
