The mark consists of the word "CODEX" in black in all capital letters with a stylized typeface slanted slightly forward. The design element of the mark also includes an elliptical ring that forms the top left and bottom right portion of the letter "X" in "CODEX". The elliptical ring is broken into two parts, a thicker upper outer half of the ring and a thinner inner lower half of the ring, approximately equal in length, with the inner lower half tangential to the upper right portion of the letter "O", crossing through the middle of the letter "D", and tangential to the lower left portion of the letter "E". In addition to forming part of the letter "X", the thicker outer upper half of the ring crosses almost tangential to the upper right portion of the letter "E". There two broken portions of the ring which are located above the left side of the letter "O" and below the right side of the letter "X", respectively, such that an imaginary straight line drawn to connect the two broken portions of the ring would intersect the word "CODEX" diagonally at an approximately 45-degree angle. The endpoints of each of the two segments which comprise the broken ring are tapered to corresponding adjacent vanishing points, such that the breaks between the two segments suggest the transition between the view of the outer and inner part of the ring.
