The mark consists of a large stylized letter "T" in yellow with the wording "EL KAPITAN" in gold letters, "TANDUAY" in large white letters with light brown shading, "PHILIPPINE DARK RUM" in gold letters, "CHAIRMAN'S BLEND" in light brown letters, and "40% ALC./VOL. INTERISLAND TROPICAL AGEING 750 ML" in dark brown stylized lettering on a gold stripe stacked underneath. A thick gold parabolic line runs above the letter "T" with a straight gold line along the bottom edge of the design. Thin straight lines in light brown appear above and below the wording "PHILIPPINE DARK RUM". The entire mark appears on top of a stylized map design with a dark brown background, shaded land masses in light brown, light brown latitude and longitude lines, light brown dotted lines such as those signifying routes, and a multi-pointed star in a compass rose with alternating light brown and dark brown points. Faint shaded horizontal lines cross the entire design below the parabolic line.
