The certification mark, as used or intended to be used by persons authorized by the certifier, certifies or is intended to certify that the goods/services provided have been made in accordance with the wine standards established by the applicant's VQA Wine Standards, Ontario's Vintners Quality Alliance Act and its Regulations, or such other similar standards as may be established by provincial statutes and regulations and which meet or exceed the VQA Wine Standards that may be passed by a provincial legislature in Canada from time to time to regulate wines made by grapes grown in the applicable province. The wines must be made in accordance with the aforesaid wine standards, which include having been produced: a) by a member winery of a provincial wine authority who has paid the prescribed application fee, b) entirely from grapes grown in the province in which the wine is made and whose legislation or regulations permit or authorize the use of the mark; c) from grapes which meet a quality standard for each variety, as measured by the natural sugar content in the ripe grapes, d) with no water added in the winemaking process, e) with truthful and accurate labels applied to the wine bottle, and f) in compliance with minimum wine quality benchmarks as evaluated through laboratory analysis. Copies of the applicant's VQA Wine Standards and Ontario's Vintners Quality Alliance Act and its Regulations are attached. The aforesaid standards are subject to change from time to time.
