The certification mark as used or intended to be used by persons authorized by the certifier, certifies that the hotel, restaurant, bar, or other establishment selling Tequila (1) maintains internal control of Tequila bottles, (2) provides correct storage of Tequila, (3) provides evidence that all purchases of Tequila are from established and approved distributors, (4) conducts correct and preferential display of Tequila by classes, types and regions, (5) executes an obligation to destroy empty bottles, (6) presents consumers with Tequila- based cocktails and includes food prepared with Tequila, and (7) that a required percentage of the staff has received instruction and/or training from the Tequila Regulatory Counsel or Institutions endorsed by the Counsel on topics which include maintaining quality standards and quality control of certified Tequila, the origin and method of manufacture of goods bearing the certification mark Tequila, the importance of maintaining the integrity of products bearing the certification mark Tequila and ways to identify and prevent the distribution of adulterated beverages that could negatively affect the prestige of Tequila.
