The mark consists of a circular seal in tan with an outer border displaying a braid design in tan, with the words "THE GREAT SEAL OF THE STATE OF" in black in the upper portion of the border of the seal and the word "CALIFORNIA" appears at the base of the border of the circular seal in black. In the center of the circle is a design displaying the words "QUEEN CALAFÌA EST. 1510" in blue-green text, and on both sides are two images of yellow flowers. Beneath is an image of a woman with brown skin wearing a gold dress, crown, hair, bracelets and shoes that are outlined in black. The woman is sitting in a gold chair with bluish green stripes. In front of the woman's feet is another circular gold seal against a blue background containing a gold crown with the words "CALIFORNIA IS ME" above the crown in dark bluish green color and "EST. 1510" below the crown in bluish green color. There is a bluish green sword above "EST. 1510". Below the seal is a picture of wheat bushel in gold and outlined in black. To the left is a brown and gold shovel. To the left of the shovel is a brown boulder below a gray boulder. To the right of the boulder are three women with brown skin and brown and gold dressing holding gold swords. All the above appearing above gold sand. Superimposed over the sand is the word "LO ENCONTRE" in white. The background displays blue water with sailboats with white sails and gray hulls, white, green, and gray mountains, and a goldish blue sky.
