The mark consists of the word "AMOCO" in black letters extending across the center of an oval shape that is bisected by a blue torch. The section of the oval below the word "AMOCO" is blue and the section above is red with orange edging and a red and orange flame extends above the oval. There is a band of silver below the design which fades out as it meets the curved arc design comprised of three adjacent bands. The outermost band is blue in color, the middle band is red in color with an orange streak, and the innermost band is silver in color. The broken lines show the position of the mark placed on the configuration of a fuel-pump façade, which is not claimed as part of the mark.
