The mark consists of a rectangle subdivided by three parallel horizontal lines, one of which lines subdivides the rectangle in the center. This center horizontal line bears a circular logo that consists of three stylized concentric circles and text. The outermost concentric circle is formed from a thick line, the second concentric circle is formed from the words "MIT PFLANZEN-INHALTSSTOFFEN AUS EIGENER HERSTELLUNG" inside the outermost circle, and the third concentric circle is formed from a thin line inside the second concentric circle. Inside the innermost circle, the word "BIO" appears in all bold capital letters, and the letter "I" is supertended by a large leaf and a small leaf, which leaves point in opposite directions. The two other parallel lines that subdivide the rectangle define a band that divides the upper half of the rectangle into two equal parts. In the top half of the rectangle defined by the band, the word "lavera" appears in underlined bold lowercase letters. The letters "avera" of "lavera" are supertended by a parallel line that is even in height to the "l" in "lavera".
