The mark consists of a series of concentric circles consisting of a black outline for the outermost circle, followed by a white lined circle, then a thick black segmented circle with "SEABOARD" appearing in white on the upper half of the thick black circle and "RAILROAD" appearing in white on the bottom half of the thick black circle. At the halfway point on the thick black circle, on both the left and right sides, are a set of two horizontal parallel lines in the color white with "AIR" appearing in the color white in the space between the lines on the left side and "LINE" appearing in the color white in the space between the lines on the right side. Inside the thick black circle is a second white lined circle, then a black lined circle, followed by a shaded white circle for the center of the design. Centered in the white circle is a red heart containing the wording "THROUGH THE HEART OF THE SOUTH" in the color white.
