The mark consists of the outline of a coffin standing vertically with a tapered and flat top and bottom; the word "HALF" above the word "DEAD" above the number "1979" centered and within the outline of the coffin; the middle horizontal lines of the "H", "A", "F", and "E" tail off to a point toward the left; the top of the "L" and the bottoms of the "D"'s tail off to a point toward the left; each digit of "1979" having the appearance of a liquid dripping from the bottom of each numeral; the outline of a bird-type wing emerges from each side of the coffin; each outline with two layers of feather-like jagged lines following the general trajectory of, and within the outline, the first or upper layer having four feather-like downward-angled points, the second or lower layer is under the first or upper layer and having five feather-like downward-angled points, the fifth downward-angled point connected to the outline.
