The mark consists of three concentric circles. The inner circle is outlined in black and shaded in a gradient of white chasing to light grey from left to right. In the center of the inner circle is an image of a blue shaded eagle with its wings risen upwards. Above the image of the eagle, still inside the circle is the phrase ESTABLISHED in black, upper case, stylized letters, written along the inner edge of the circle, and on the bottom of the circle also inside, along the edge is the number 2016 also in black. The middle circle is shaded in black and has the phrase BAY AREA in the top of the circle, written in white, stylized, upper case letters. The phrase DEFENSIVE TACTICS in white, upper case letters is written in the lower section of the middle circle, and there is a white, five point star placed in between the phrases, at about the midpoint of the circle's circumference on either side. The outermost circle is outlined in black. The space in between the circle is white.
