The mark consists of The mark consists of a white circle with a thin black inner border, between the border and the outside of the circle the wording "HOUSTON BLACK" appears arched in the top half, in the bottom half of the circle the wording "AMERICAN DEMOCRATS" appears arched, all in block letters, a small dot appears between "HOUSTON" and "AMERICAN" on the center left and "BLACK" and "DEMOCRATES" on the center right between the inner border and the outside of the circle separating the word groups, in the center of the circle appears the outline of the State of Texas with the extreme tips of the state pushing just outside the inner border, superimposed over the state is a kicking donkey, the upper part of the donkey is dark with three white stars in a row and a white eye, the lower part of the donkey is lighter, the two halves are separated by a line.
