The mark consists of a literal portion "MAQUAHUITL" written in stylized letters. The literal portion "MAQUAHUITL" is centered in the mark above a perspective view of a stylized weapon, comprising a handle with a round pommel, an ovoid blade with irregularly sized triangular chipped blades along the long axis edges of the ovoid. The lower edge of the handle and the blade edge of the weapon is shaded. The blade portion is segmented into five roughly equal sections, the second and fourth segments from the handle are crisscrossed with stylized banding. The first segment has a symbol consisting of four ovoids connected tip to tip in a circle. The third segment has a symbol consisting of four ovoids connected tip to tip in a circle with internal shading horizontal to the interior along the long axis of the ovoid. The fifth segment has a symbol consisting of four ovoids connected tip to tip in a circle with internal shading horizontal to the exterior along the long axis of the ovoid and a sawtooth pattern along the exterior of the long axis of the ovoid. A circle with a dot in the center is located in the center of the design on the fifth segment with oriented at an angle with the handle to the lower left and the top of the weapon to the upper right. A literal portion "BLACK IPA" written in standard script is right justified beneath the edged portion of the weapon. A literal portion "CALAVERA" also in stylized letters, is centered at the bottom of the mark. The letter "C" in "CALAVERA" has a quartered inner design, the upper left quadrant contains the letter "B", the upper right and lower left quadrants each contain a letter "E" and the lower right quadrant contains the letter "R".
