The mark consists of a stylized capital letter "A" with a stylized five-pointed star cut out of the middle of the "A". A dark gray horizontal arc separates the top half of the "A" from the bottom half of the "A". The top half of the "A" is gold and the bottom half of the "A" is dark gray. Between the two legs at the bottom of the capital "A" are the words "CITY OF" in smaller dark gray capital letters. Beneath the capital "A" and extending beyond the "A" on both sides is the word "AMARILLO" in larger gold capital letters and beneath that in smaller dark gray capital letters are the words "OPEN SPACES ENDLESS OPPORTUNITIES", with a small gold star centered between the words "SPACES" and "ENDLESS".
