The mark consists of the wording "IRISH EMPIRE" in black above a design consisting of a green wren perched on top of a gold crown that is placed on the black head of an eagle which is turned to face the left side. The black eagle has black open-feathered wings. In the eagle's wings, on either side, is woven a distinctive Celtic knotted symbol. The main body of the eagle is represented by a green three-leaf shamrock having a gold outline. The gold outline on the three green leaves forms three closed-top gold crowns having circular cut-outs along the bottom and up the center of the crown, and a gold cross extending from the top center, with that same gold cross extending from the bottom of the stem of the shamrock. In the center of the shamrock is a gold shield shape with a second line inside the outer edge and containing the capital letters "I" and "E" in black. All white portions of the design represent transparent background and are not claimed as a feature of the mark.
