The mark consists of a circular photograph of three male soldiers dressed in gray, green and brown camouflaged military or paramilitary clothing. The middle soldier has a red shirt. The color beige appears in the skin of the soldiers and the color black appears in the guns, gloves, sunglasses, and vests on the soldiers. The soldiers appear in front of a gray background over which photograph an overlay of stylized crosshairs in black has been placed to appear as if the photograph is seen through a gun sight. The three soldiers appear in the right half of the photograph, the soldier on the left carrying a rifle and looking out for the other two, a soldier in the middle who is wounded and the soldier on the right is assisting him in walking, but also carrying a rifle; and on the left half of the circular photograph there appears a stylized six pointed star symbol in blue similar to those used to represent ambulances and emergency medical services personnel, upon which an electrocardiogram tracing of the waves comprising the typical cardiac cycle or "heartbeat" is superimposed in green across the middle of the blue six pointed star symbol and extending along the horizontal line of the gun sight crosshair in black, all of which circular photograph is surrounded by a thin concentric circular border in black, followed by a larger concentric circular border in green, within which the letters "MeRDeF" appear in a stylized font in yellow at the top of the border and the words "MEDICAL RESPONSE TO DEADLY FORCE" appear at the bottom in gold, all such letters and words using a stylized font.
