The mark consists of a red cruciform having four pointed extensions, three of such extensions being of approximately equal length, with one extension (to the right) being of approximately double the length of the others, the cruciform forming a quadrant, with the word "the" appearing with initial capitalization in the upper left quadrant, the word "Catholic" in all uppercase letters in the upper right quadrant, and the words "charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago" in all uppercase in the lower right quadrant, the word "charities" in a larger type font than the other words in the quadrant, all such letters in the literal element of the mark being in a black, sans-serif font.
