The mark consists of a blue outer circle containing an American flag overlaid by wording, with visible portions of the flag consisting of a blue strip with white stars in addition to patches of red and white, with the words "HIP HOP VOTES" written over the flag and circle, with "HIP HOP" in black letters outlined in white, except for the letter "O" in "HOP", which is comprised of a yellow circle outlined in white followed by a black outline containing the phrase "HOT 97" written in white letters with a black outline and black shading, and "FM" written in black letters in a smaller white circle outlined in black, which is located at the bottom right of the number "7", and appearing below "HIP HOP" is the word "VOTES" written in white with a red outline and red shading, except for the letter "V" which is comprised of a solid red check mark, the bottom and underside of which contain a black outline, and three white stars outlined in black at the upper left of the outer circle, one white star outlined in black at the upper right of the outer circle and two white stars outlined in black at the lower right of the outer circle, with the remaining areas within the outer circle being white.
