The certification mark, as used by authorized persons, certifies that the services in association with which it is used are performed in accordance with the following defined standard: the mark recognizes meeting, conference and convention facilities of conference centers, convention centers, hotels, motels, resort hotels, inns and bed and breakfasts that conform to energy-saving and environmental practices in the following areas of sustainable hotel operations, namely energy conservation, water conservation, solid waste management, hazardous waste management, indoor air quality, community outreach, building infrastructure, land use and environmental management as per specific standards set out by the certifier
