The mark consists of the wording "SAN MARCOS RESTAURANT TRADITIONAL MEXICAN STYLE" in stylized form. To the left of the wording "SAN MARCOS" is a design of a traditional, arched Mexican-style entrance with a plant in front of the arch on the left hand side, and a fountain in front of the arch on the right hand side. The upper portion of the arch has two lanterns on either side, and joining them, a series of decorative dots. Above the lanterns and dots, and centrally located in the arch, is a curved, roughly semicircular design. To the right of "SAN MARCOS", and on either side of the word "RESTAURANT", is a curlicue design. There is a horizontal line beneath the word "RESTAURANT". The wording "SAN MARCOS", the backgrounds of the arch and fountain, and the lowermost portions of the lanterns are in shades of olive green. The wording "RESTAURANT TRADITIONAL MEXICAN STYLE", the top of the arch, the tops of the lanterns, and some of the lines in the bottom of the fountain, that create the illusion of stonework, are in burgundy. The middle portions of the lanterns are in white. The roughly semicircular design in the arch is in black.
