The mark consists of the wording "JOHN WILLIAM PALMER" in reddish brown stylized font above a design element consisting of a stylized crest with a gold lion shaded in black, with white eyes, white teeth, and red tongue and holding a stylized gray and black vase with a red flower and standing atop a gray armor helmet with black shading. A gold and red striped shield appears below the helmet, with the first stripe being gold with a gray panther with black shading and outlining, atop a red stripe with three clover-like designs in gray with black shading and outlining, atop a gold stripe, atop a smaller red stripe with three clover-like designs in gray with black shading and outlining atop a gold triangular bottom stripe with the number "1869" in black stylized font.
