The certification mark, as intended to be used by authorized persons, will certify compliance of nonprofit organizations engaged in philanthropic, charitable, eleemosynary and public welfare activities with recommended practices regarding personnel matters, accounting procedures, management by the board of directors, record keeping policies, creation of and access by the public to the organization's information and promotional literature, insurance coverage practices, compliance with the laws, conflicts of interest, staff and board training policies and accountability, and reporting requirements, as set forth in Standards of Excellence An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector, as it may be amended.
