The mark consists of a gold label in the form of a shield having a rounded bottom, and a protruding circle at the top. The word "METAXA" is located toward the top of the shield, in brown letters, outlined in bright gold; a horizontal band at the middle of the shield having protruding triangular upper and lower portions at the middle of the band, the band being brown, horizontal yellow lines with dark brown shadow following the upper and lower edges of the band, the wording "with" in gold letters above "GREEK HONEY" in yellow, above a yellow honey drop with brown shading, all between the two yellow lines; yellow lines radiating outwardly from the honey drop; the signature "S. Metaxa" in brown at the bottom of the shield; within the circle a brown circle of two thin rings surrounding a thicker ring, and within the rings an image in brown of a person with a owl on one arm, bow and arrow in the other hand, on a ship with an owl in the front on the water in front of a radiating sun.
