The mark consists of a label design, where the top band is yellow at the top and dark blue at the bottom. There is Greek wording in dark blue, below which is a gold line above and below 5 gold stars, the wording "5 STARS" and Greek wording in light blue. Below this is a vertical strip in dark blue with light blue lines and the signature "S. METAXA" in yellow. Below this is the roughly rectangular portion of the label with dark blue at the top and an interior red line. Near the top is a circle design in yellow and gold containing the image of a man standing on a boat. Bellow this, the label is gold on the outer edges with an interior red line, and the inner portion of the label is yellow with a gold triangular repeated pattern around it. Greek wording, "METAXA", and THE ORIGINAL GREEK SPIRIT are in dark blue. Gold double lines appear above and below this wording. Across the middle of the label is a dark blue banner with gold exterior lining. It contains 5 gold stars, the wording "5 STARS" and the Greek wording in light blue. Below this is Greek wording followed by "1888" in dark blue. A medal design is below "1888" in light blue and gold and hanging from gold bar. Below the medal is Greek wording in dark blue. To the left and right are medals, outlined in dark blue and containing brown. Below the left set of medals, is the dark blue Greek wording. To the right set of medals, is dark blue Greek wording. At the bottom is dark blue Greek wording and "S. & E. & A. METAXA A.B.E.". The bottom portion of the label is dark blue with a red interior line.
