The mark consists of Children of the Doolittle Raiders " EMBLEM" > Doolittle Raiders - The eighty men that bombed Japan on April 18, 1942 Toujours Au Danger - Means "Ever into Peril" B-25 Airplane- A Mitchel B-25 bomber, the aircraft used in the raid, flies above the symbols of the four squadrons involved. The seven Maltese crosses represent the 17th Bomber Group, from which three of the squadrons were selected. The Thunderbird represents the 34th Squadron. The Kicking Mule represents the 95th Squadron. The Tiger's Head represents the 37th Squadron. The Winged Helmet represents the 89th Reconnaissance Squadron. These different elements of the emblem, as in the group of men they represent, were brought together under a common purpose, and remain unified as a symbol of the bond they shared as members of the Doolittle Raiders. The black circle the emblem is on .-This represents the dark of night that they landed or bailed out. The white in the lettering .- This represents the light of day 80 men took off on the HORNET .
