The mark consists of a design portion, and the wording PENUMBRA which appears in the color blue, behind which a drop shadow in the color gray appears. The design portion consists in part of a circle in blue partially occluding an orange oval, thereby forming the appearance of a stylized penumbra adjacent the blue circle, which in turn partially occlude a square of which only three corners appear as blue triangles. Each of the design elements forming the circle, penumbra and triangles is outlined by a white border, and the penumbra and circle have gradient shades ranging from orange to white and blue to white, respectively. The mark appears on a faint blue rectangular field.
