The mark consists of stylized capital letters, superimposed and centered over the top of a banner, which capital letters spell the word "humboldt", with the "h" of "humboldt" being larger in font than the rest of the letters and having its left side in the shape of a conifer tree, with the tree extending over the edge of the top of the banner, and the "t" extending over the right side of the banner; centered directly underneath and in the middle of the banner, in font approximately three times the size of the foregoing word, stylized capital letters spelling the word "soils", with the first "s" of "soils" being larger in font than the rest of the letters and having the top of the letter connected to the bottom of the bottom of the conifer tree above, which tree makes up the right side of the letter "h" of the word "humboldt" above, with the "s" on the right of the word "soils" extending over the right side of the banner and the "s" on the left side of the word "soils" extending over the left side of the banner; the banner having an outline running inside its circumference, which line extends to outline the conifer, "t" of "humboldt", and the left "s" and right "s" of "soils", all of which extend outside the natural rectangular shape of the banner; centered directly below the word "soils" are three wavy lines running horizontally, within the banner outline, from one side of the banner to the other.
