The mark consists of an inner circle with the scales of justice in the colors maroon and white above the outline of buildings in the colors maroon and white against a background of white and maroon. In particular, the left half of the inner circle shows the scale and city skyline in maroon against a white sky, while the right half shows the scale and city skyline in white against a maroon sky. The scales hang from the horizontal arms of a four-pronged design composed of triangular shapes that alternate between maroon and white. The outer circle contains the words "JUST THE BEGINNING FOUNDATION" in all uppercase lettering curving across the top of the circle; "1992" appearing with the "19" on the left side and the "92" on the right side of the circle; and with "CHICAGO, ILLINOIS" curving across the bottom of the circle in lowercase lettering with initial capitals. All of the wording and the borders of the inner and outer circles are in maroon.
