The certification mark, as used by authorized persons, certifies that the philanthropic, charitable, eleemosynary and public welfare activities performed by non-profit organizations comply with standards establishing recommended practices regarding personnel matters, accounting procedures, management by the board of directors, record keeping policies, creation of and access by the public to the organization's information and promotional literature, insurance coverage practices, compliance with the laws, conflicts of interest, staff and board training policies and accountability, and reporting requirements.
