The mark consists of The mark consists of a circular area with one inner concentric ring, the area between the outside and the inner ring colored in a pale gold, with the words "NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF HEAVY EQUIPMENT TRAINING SCHOOLS" appearing in the same area and superimposed over the pale gold color. Before the word "NATIONAL" and after the word "OF" is a five pointed, black star. The circular area on the inside of the outer ring is of a pale blue color. Superimposed over the pale blue color is the outline of an eagle (light silver color) in flight and black and white silhouettes of a backhoe, bulldozer and excavator. Adjoining the bottom of the outer circle is an open scroll extending from the left hand to the right hand side and divided into three parts. Inside the left-hand portion of the scroll is the word "EXPERIENCE", inside the middle portion of the scroll is the word "NATIONAL CERTIFICATION" and inside the right-hand scroll is the word "Knowledge". Immediately below the scroll, and centered on the middle scroll are the letters "OPCAT". At the left and right of "OPCAT" is one, five-pointed, black star.
