The Mark consists of a heraldic shield with a Artist's Palette over the shield, on which the word "MONTYNE" is written. Through the thumb hole of this portable storage painting platform is an Artist's Steady Stick, a size 18 Tajmyr Sable Brush, a round Da Vinci Black Sable Brush, and a 19th century Dip-Pen - all pointing to the lower left from the upper right of the shield. From the upper left, through the thumb hole of the Artist's Palette to the lower right is a 16th century "Classical Rapier." It is a Spadone, used in war; a long slim tapering blade with a complex hilt. In the back drop at the top of the shield is Montyne's hands (modeled after the artist's) holding a Iron Pitching tool and Mallet. These tools are used in the "roughing out" stage in the sculpting process. On the lower right of the shield is a Glove with the index finger pointing down, representing Montyne's Balancing Act. On the lower left is a Crown, representing Knighthood, honored by a sovereign.
