The certification mark, as intended to be used by authorized persons, is intended to certify The "Green Mix Asphalt" is an asphalt paving mix of aggregates, bitumen and other elements, comparable to a "Hot Mix Asphalt" but produced using a specific process that reduces the asphalt plant's energy consumption and CO2 emissions as well as the emissions of Hazardous Air Pollutants at the plant and at the paving site. The "Green Mix Asphalt" process is characterized by the following: - Only part of the aggregates is dried (generally the coarser part) - The fine aggregates (in totality or in part) and the Recycled Asphalt Products (RAP) are introduced, cold and wet, into the mixer. - The mix discharged temperature is lower than 212ºF. - A set of specific moisture and temperature sensors and an electronic controller monitor and regulate the process .
