The mark consists of the Union City Board of Education logo. There is an open book with seventeen lines on each page. There is a circle in the middle of the book which has a logo that rises above the book. This consists of a bold UC that has a shadow which is in front of a drawing. The drawing is a man and a woman holding hands. Above the woman there is a flower. Above the flower it says UNDERSTANDING WITH COMPASSION. UNDERSTANDING WITH COMPASSION is capitalized and there is a border around the words that looks like a scroll. The word WITH has a three dimensional feature. In addition there are buildings and cliffs underneath the man and woman as well and the date 1925. There are ten symmetrical lines coming from the center building which extend to the outer edge of the circle. On the bottom of the circle there are the words UNION CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION which are bold and they are consistent with the shape of the bottom of the circle. Directly above the circle is the phrase UNION CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION which is bold and has a stylized font. This phrase is in the shape of the top half of the circle which is located underneath it .
