The colors blue, purple and black appear on the birds' feathers. The color black appears on the birds' beaks, claws, eyes and tails. The color black also appears on the left shoulder of the parrot on the left, and is caused by the shadow created by light blocked out by the face and beak of the parrot on the right. The color yellow appears around the birds' eyes and on the their beaks. The color light brown appears on the wooden perch, and gradually becomes lighter towards the right end of the perch. The color black in the Chinese and roman wording is claimed as a feature of the mark.
