The certifier has exercised its legitimate control over the mark as used in interstate commerce by authorized persons to indicate critical care units of hospitals who meet the certifier's standards of caring for patients and their families and maintaining healthy work environments for nurses depending upon evidence collected by the certifier relating to education, training, practice, leadership and ethics.
