The mark is described as follows: the outside of the mark is a dark blue oval line; inside the oval blue line are the words in all capitals NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE ASSOCIATION also in dark blue, bordering the rim of an inner oval; the inner oval is colored medium blue on the left shading to orange on the right; superimposed on the inner oval is a goose in flight toward the right, colored dark blue except for white patches on the belly, breast, and chin; and the tips of the beak and wings of the goose extend beyond the rim of the inner oval into the border containing the words.
