The term "LEMAITRE" is from the French language term "maitre" meaning, among other definitions, "master", conveying the following senses, impressions, and meanings - a) one whose work serves as a model, ideal, or landmark for later generations; b) "instructor", "teacher", and/or "tutor", all indicating the attainment of proficiency and expertise sufficient to follow it independently and employ or supervise journeymen or apprentices; c) a figure of immense authority or generally recognized greatness; d) one of consummate accomplishment, skill, ingenuity, and/or dexterity; e) being the chief, guiding, or principal one; f) "leader", and g) one having predominance, superiority, and/or authority over others.
