THE UPPER LEFT SECTION LINED FOR RED, BLUE AND WHITE REPRESENTS A SIMULATION OF THE FIRST UNION FLAG OF GREAT BRITAIN WHICH WAS (BUT IS NOT NOW) THE NATIONAL FLAG OF GREAT BRITAIN FROM THE ACCESSION OF JAMES I THROUGH OUR REVOLUTIONARY WAR UNTIL JANUARY 1, 1801. THE TWO SUN BURSTS LINED FOR GOLD IN THE UPPER RIGHT AND LOWER LEFT SECTIONS WHICH ARE LINED FOR RED REPRESENT THE TWO COMPANIES OF CONCORD MINUTE MEN, WHO FIRST ENGAGED BRITISH TROOPS IN MORTAL COMBAT AT THE OLD NORTH BRIDGE IN CONCORD ON APRIL 19, 1775. THE PINE TREE LINED FOR GREEN IN THE LOWER RIGHT SECTION WHICH IS LINED FOR BROWN WAS THE SYMBOL OF LIBERTY TO THE COLONISTS OF 1775 AND CONTINUES TO REPRESENT LIBERTY TO THE CONCORD MINUTE MEN TO THIS DAY.
